What
is cabinet refacing?
If you are considering remodeling your
kitchen, cabinet refacing is an alternative
to a complete remodel. Cabinet refacing is a
great way to restore your existing cabinets
and simultaneously create a dramatically
different and distinctive new look in you
kitchen. People who choose refacing are
generally satisfied with their existing
cabinet layout but want to change the look
and improve the functionality of their
cabinetry. A refacing project can provide
the following products:

Why reface?
Refacing provides a less disruptive
alternative to remodeling, and its also a
much cheaper option. Because refacing
preserves the basic structure of the
cabinets, the time and expense of the
project is not as extensive.
How long will it take to complete my
kitchen?
We can complete most kitchens in about 10
business days. If countertops are part of
the project, expect completion in about 15
to 20 business days.
Refacing materials
It is easy to create styles from traditional
to contemporary simply by changing the doors
and moldings. We use premium quality
thermofoil and solid wood doors and veneers.
We have hundreds of style, color and wood
specie combinations to choose from.
How much does refacing cost, how do I get
a quote?
The cost will vary depending on the size of
your kitchen. For an estimate you will need
to provide us with the number of cabinet
doors and drawers in the reface area. With
this information we will calculate a price
range for your project. For a quote we ask
that you visit our showroom and select a
door style. Once a door is selected, we will
schedule a visit to your home so that your
kitchen can be measured and a project plan
presented to you.
The process
|
|
We begin by removing the cabinet doors and
drawers. If we are installing a new counter
top, your old counters are removed and
discarded.
The next step will be to prepare the
cabinet boxes for the refacing process by
sanding, repairing and modifying them. We
will also add any new cabinet boxes at this
time.
Once the cabinets are ready, we will apply
the veneers and panels to the exposed
external surfaces of the cabinets. If you
choose to replace your drawer boxes, we will
install dovetail constructed drawers and new
rails.
Once the cabinets are veneered and the
drawer boxes are in place, new doors, drawer
fronts and moldings are installed and
aligned. Since there are so many choices of
drawer and door handles to choose from, we
ask that you supply them; however we will
gladly install the handles for you.
Countertop installation is typically the
final step. We offer a variety of popular
countertop materials including granite,
quartz and solid surface. Your countertops
will be custom fabricated to accommodate the
cabinet design and your choice of sink and
plumbing fixtures. |
